A scientist at the Bayer Crop Science Innovation Center holds a plate of a specific soy bean strain. Different insects are introduced into multiple plates that make up a full tray for the experiment. The amount of damage done to the soy bean sample by the insects will tell scientists which bean strains are more successful.<br />
The Bayer Crop Science Innovation Center was established in 2010 and employs researchers in genetics, genomics and agricultural biotechnology. Much of the company’s seed and trait R&D goes through this center, which is located just miles from the Bayer greenhouses that will grow the seeds developed at the Innovation Center.
