Supporters of House Bill 2 (HB2) held a rally that brought thousands to the Halifax Mall to show their support for the bill that has proved to be highly divisive in the state. Stating that the bill, which stated that transgender people must use the bathroom of the sex stated on their birth certificate, was a safety issue, as well as a religious moral one, a series of state politicians and religious leaders tooth stage to express their support for embattles NC governor Pat McCrory.
