Kurt Boundonck, the Greenhouse Group Leader for Research Triangle Park, holds a soybean from Greenhouse 5. He oversees the growth of new plant strains as the modified traits are tested in various environments. It takes an average of 15 years and $130,000,000 to bring one seed and trait to market. <br />
The Bayer Crop Science Research Triangle Park main campus houses 2 large greenhouses which are used to test grow many of the seeds that are modified nearby at the Innovation Center. Another greenhouse is currently under construction.
