February 25, 2013. Nag's Head, North Carolina. Many houses along the shore in the Outer Banks have been abandoned as the beach erodes. Residences that were formerly rows back from the beach have become beachfront as older houses collapse into the sea.. Tracing the path of Hurricane Sandy, which wrecked havoc on the northeastern seaboard from October 25-31, 2012. The storm caused flooding and caused an estimated 60 billion dollars worth of damage to affected areas.
