May 19, 2010. Chatham County, North Carolina.. Jug fishing is the art of tieing a baited hook and line to floating milk jugs and dropping the line into the water. After that, you just sit back and wait for the fish to bite, or not.. A sinker is attached to the line to help get  the hook to the lake bed where catfish tend to dwell.
