April 21, 2009. Myrtle Beach, SC.. After years of hosting hundreds of thousands of bikers for the annual Bike Week and Black Bike Week rallies, the city council of Myrtle Beach has passed new motorcycle laws to try and put an end to the rallies and promote a more family oriented experience. Many local business owners are outraged at the loss off revenue and the ordinances are to be challenged in court.. Motorcyclists make their way down the Ocean Blvd. strip. New rules require helmets, in contrast to SC state law, and also regulate many other things that make motorcycle riding in the city more difficult.
