April 21, 2009. Myrtle Beach, SC.. After years of hosting hundreds of thousands of bikers for the annual Bike Week and Black Bike Week rallies, the city council of Myrtle Beach has passed new motorcycle laws to try and put an end to the rallies and promote a more family oriented experience. Many local business owners are outraged at the loss off revenue and the ordinances are to be challenged in court.. Scooters and Cycles, a shop in downtown Myrtle Beach that sells and rents, is across from one of the many mini golf courses that offer more family oriented fun. The motorcycle business is already down and the owners worry that the new rules will only hurt business more.
