April 21, 2009. Myrtle Beach, SC.. After years of hosting hundreds of thousands of bikers for the annual Bike Week and Black Bike Week rallies, the city council of Myrtle Beach has passed new motorcycle laws to try and put an end to the rallies and promote a more family oriented experience. Many local business owners are outraged at the loss off revenue and the ordinances are to be challenged in court.. Robert Kelly, left, and Todd Leggens, who are hotel owners, help run BOOST, Business Owners Organized to Save Tourism, a group that hopes to get the new rules repealed and change the city government in hopes of saving the bike rallies and the money they bring in.
