April 21, 2009. Myrtle Beach, SC.. After years of hosting hundreds of thousands of bikers for the annual Bike Week and Black Bike Week rallies, the city council of Myrtle Beach has passed new motorcycle laws to try and put an end to the rallies and promote a more family oriented experience. Many local business owners are outraged at the loss off revenue and the ordinances are to be challenged in court.. Kids play at an amusement park on the Ocean Blvd. strip. There are many such parks and arcades that are aimed at the visiting families which opponents of the bike rallies say are driven away in May when the bikers arrive.
