After his daily run, Marc Edwards cools down with his dog Curry at the fire pit beside his home. An avid runner, Edwards runs approximately 40 miles a week on the trails and roads surrounding his home outside Blacksburg, VA.
Marc Edwards is a civil engineering/environmental engineer and the Charles P. Lunsford Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Virginia Tech. He is an expert in water quality and corrosion, and his work in Washington DC and in Flint, Michigan helped to expose high levels of lead contamination in the water supplies of those two cities, triggering investigations into the cause of the pollution.
