April 21, 2009. Myrtle Beach, SC.. After years of hosting hundreds of thousands of bikers for the annual Bike Week and Black Bike Week rallies, the city council of Myrtle Beach has passed new motorcycle laws to try and put an end to the rallies and promote a more family oriented experience. Many local business owners are outraged at the loss off revenue and the ordinances are to be challenged in court.. Tom Rice, a local lawyer, is an organizer of Take Back May, a citizen and business group that lobbied the city council to instigate the new laws and stop the bike rallies from occurring.
