Ricky Diaz, left, the spokesperson for the North Carolina Republican Party, was challenged by Kimberly Pierce Cartwright, right of NCCu radio, as he announced the initiation of the party's "Immoral Mondays" website. The site claims to expose the out of state funding of the Moral Monday events that have been popular with democratic voters over the last few years.

The NC NAACP contests that HB 589 (Voter ID requirements) violate Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act (42 U.S.C. 1973) and the Fourteenth and Fifteenth Amendments of the Constitution.
